As the weather cools, the passions of Scorpio rise. If Scorpio predominates in your chart you are passionate, intense, deep, secretive, can be vindictive, stubborn, jealous. Watch and prepare for shocks and possibly abrupt intractable changes as your intense passions and identity struggles and is at odds with what is happening in a personal way, and/or the world at large during this time. On Nov 3rd, the Sun is opposing Jupiter. This is a time where opposite energies need to be reconciled. The energy of Jupiter, which is expansive, generous and grounding in Taurus needs to balance with one’s identity in the deep dark waters of Scorpio. During this period of time try to bring a generous and expansive practicality and sensuality to the depths of your investigative waters. A time to affirm and welcome generosity towards self. Mars is creatively connected to Pluto from Nov 2nd – 6th This is deep and passionate, transforming energy. A time to use that energy creatively in a concrete way for change, transforming deep wounds.
On the 23rd and 24th of October just as the Sun enters Scorpio, Saturn in Pisces forms an easy connection. This can lay a foundation towards responsible imagination while exploring the intense landscape within oneself.
When the Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd of October, Mercury is ahead and already influenced by Scorpio’s energy. Mercury in close contact to the Sun is swallowed and overwhelmed by the Sun’s brilliance and power. Slowly, Mercury, the messenger of the god’s, breaks away from the Sun bearing the message that was imparted in it’s depths. That message will become clear as the sun’s influence is lessened and can be expressed as Mercury moves toward a strong connection to Mars and at the same time opposing Jupiter on the 28th of October. Expect intense action that can be expressed angrily, forcefully, bravely or passionately. Plan to express oneself dynamically and in a constructive rather than destructive way. With Jupiter’s influence this is a great time to balance with Martian warlikeness and courage with optimism and confidence in a down to earth way. Be sure to record the message Mercury brings whether it is written, in conversation or through art.
On Nov 16th Neptune in Pisces is in good rapport with Mars and the Sun is conjoined in Scorpio. This will connect dreams and imagination to the intense waters of Scorpio. Watch for any fogginess, drunkenness to confuse your actions. The dreams can be brought to action with the Martian influence towards oneself.
Full Moon is in Taurus on October 28th at 3:54 PM EDT – The moon is full in Taurus: Stubborn, practical, deliberate feelings and emotions are opposing a deep, intense identity. The feelings strong and you are intense especially with Mars also in the mix. Find a balance between your intense ego and sensual earthly emotions will be important today.
The dark of the New Moon is on Nov 13th at 3:06 AM EDT – In the heart of the Sun the Moon disappears, protected and then birthed in the depths of Scorpio. She is colored with emotional turbulence, deep feelings, with a new intensity and some of that martial force right with her. Borrow the martial bravery to navigate these deep and sometimes troubled waters.
Venus is in Libra during Scorpio time. The Sun, Mars and Mercury do not see her – she is too close. Ares (greek)/Mars (roman) is the classical ruler of Scorpio.
Roman god of war, patron of soldiers. He is impetuous, quick to act, easily angered, fiery, outgoing, forceful and brave. He is admired by the Romans, as a war god, stern, brave and stalwart in war, god of agriculture, and largely responsible for Roman prosperity. He is celebrated as the first month of the Roman year and the harbinger of Spring.
As Ares in the Greek tradition he is despised as a god who loves violence, is savage and kills for pleasure. He took joy in carnage, death and destruction. He inspired fear in mortals who beheld him. He would sometimes be seen arriving at a battle scene in a chariot drawn by four horses named Terror, Fire, Flame and Trouble. His sons Deimos (Fear) and Phobos (Terror) drove his chariot, and sometimes his sister Eris (Discord) would stand beside him shrieking with a horrible joy.
Lovers Aphrodite (Venus) and Mars (Ares)
The story:
Venus the goddess of love and beauty is able to dominate the terrible god of war, Mars. He is disarmed and relaxed, even sleeping in her presence. Their union has an illicit quality to it as Venus is married to Hephaestus, but she gave her heart to Mars. She fell passionately in love with him. To her, Ares was the dashing god of war and she publicly flaunted her affection.
